#RealtyNewsRoundUp: Centre To Hold RERA Workshop For Northern States On Nov 15

For effective implementation of the Real Estate (Regulation & Development) Act, 2016, the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry will hold a day-long workshop on November 15 that would include homebuyers, bank representatives, developers and other sector. Among the states participating in the workshop are Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.

Amid an ongoing liquidity crisis, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cancelled the certificate of registrations of as many as 31 non-banking finance companies (NBFCs) for unspecified reasons. Of these, 27 companies are from West Bengal.

The state department of town and country planning (DTCP) has cancelled licences of 31 ongoing real estate projects across Haryana for violation of norms. Most of these projects are in Gurgaon. The cancelled projects, which include residential and commercial ones, are either under construction or partially constructed.

Meanwhile, the DTCP has formed a three member-committee to speed up the processing of applications under the Deen Dayal Jan Awas Yojana (DDJAY) for pushing construction of affordable housing policy in the state.

The Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA) has decided to register layouts, which were recently regularised. The authority has directed the town and country planning department to direct layout promoters to register such layouts.
