Tasked by markets regulator Secuities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) to sell land parcels of trouble-hit business conglomirate Sahara India, HDFC Realty will e-auction five properties owned by the beleaguered group at a reserve price of Rs 722 crore on July 4. HDFC Realty has been asked to auction a total of 31 land parcels at Rs 2,400 crore, while SBI Cap has been tasked to auction another 30 land properties with an estimated market value of about Rs 4,100 crore. The West Bengal government will invite participation from real estate developers to develop new townships in the state. Officials said private players could develop townships on privately owned land, for which the government would provide all the required facilities. The government will also develop six cities, which include Siliguri, Kalyani, Bolpur, Baruipur, Howrah and Asansol, as the theme cities. Read more

Lenders of the defunct Kingfisher Airlines have begun the process of valuation of the Kingfisher Villa in Goa. The process of arriving at a commercial value for the villa is likely to be completed in a few days, after which the lenders will put it on sale, as a part of the efforts to recover over Rs 9,000 crore dues from the airline.
