Description

The GIFT City near Ahmedabad is one of the significant emerging international financial service centres (IFSCs), says the latest edition of the Global Financial Centres Index 24 (GFCI), released in London. It is ranked third in the list of the report, which has highlighted 15 centres that are likely to become more significant in the next few years.

The Centre has written to the West Bengal government to repeal its own version of the real estate regulatory law to avoid any confusion. The pan-Indian homebuyers association, Fight for RERA, had been campaigning for repeal of the state Act, which is a replica of the Central law.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said that a Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) would be constituted, on the lines of the Gurugram Metro Development Authority (GMDA), to provide all infrastructure facilities to people residing there.

Meanwhile, the state has allowed registration of the four-storey in residential buildings and has framed a policy in this regard.

Citizens, who had flats in Lavasa but never got possession, will get back refund as the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRera) has ruled in their favour. Homebuyers had booked flats in the project between 2010 and 2014. The authority has also asked Lavasa to pay Rs 20,000 as litigation cost over and above 10.65 per cent interest.
