The Uttar Pradesh Housing and Urban Planning Department has initiated the process of registering all development authorities and developers under the Real Estate (Regulation & Development) Act, 2016. The task of designing an exclusive website for this purpose has been given to Awas Bandhu.

Any building and construction project with a built-up area of up to 1.5 lakh square metres in Delhi will not need a green approval from the environment and forest ministry. Local authorities will now have the power to enforce the environmental conditions. The move is likely to cut down the wait time for project approvals significantly.

The Department of Town and Country Planning has finalised the procedure by which developers can avail of additional floor area ratio (FAR) to install solar photovoltaic power plants and solid waste management plants in private colonies. However, when the DTCP grants occupation certificate to a society which has availed of such additional FAR, it would have to ensure that the plants are in working condition.

The Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) has decided to build over 10,000 affordable homes in the city. It will later build another 4,057 homes across Wanjri, Bharatwada-Punapur, Tarodi and Khurd areas under the Pradhan Mantri Gharkul Awas Yojana.
