The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has reduced the risk weightage on home loans above Rs 75 lakh to 50 per cent, from the earlier 75 per cent. This will make borrowing of big-ticket loans cheaper. However, announcing its Second Bi-monthly Monetary Policy on June 7, the RBI retained the repo rate at 6.25 per cent, and the reverse repo rate at 6 per cent.

The Maharashtra government has asked for the Centre's assistance to fund the ongoing Metro and Monorail projects in Mumbai. There are eight Metro projects and one Monorail project lined up for the city. The state needs Rs 1.4 lakh crore to complete these projects, and wants the Centre to share 10-15 per cent of the expenditure.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved link roads to Ayodhya and Varanasi from the proposed 354-km Purvanchal Expressway that will start from Lucknow and end in the east tip of UP in Ghazipur. The UP Public Works Department will build a Link road to Ayodhya from the E-way near Faizabad so that pilgrims can reach Ayodhya from Lucknow in less than a couple of hours.

The Haryana Urban Development Authority is trying to get additional land for the construction of the Central Peripheral Road (CPR), which will connect the Dwarka Expressway with the National Highway-8. As the proposed road is 3.2-km long and 90-metre wide, the development body is looking for an additional 30 metres of land all along the 3.2-km stretch to tweak the alignment.
