Description

Jaiprakash Associates Limited has missed the June-15 deadline set by the Supreme Court (SC) to submit Rs 1,000 crore as compensation to the home buyers. Now, this could lead to resumption of insolvency proceedings against its associate company, Jaypee Infratech Ltd (JIL). However, JAL has filed a new application seeking permission of the SC to "monetise/create security of some of its assets to enable it to comply with the orders of the SC.”

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has relaxed the deadline of filing property tax. The June-30 deadline has now been extended to July 15 for filing property tax for the financial year 2018-19. Under the amnesty scheme by the corporation, the taxpayers, who pay within the deadline, would get 15 per cent rebate and an additional two per cent rebate in case of online payment.

In a response to a Right To Information query, the Haryana government has received claims for over 3,600 flats and plots in the Manesar land scam. Earlier in March this year, the SC had ordered for the ownership of over 680 acre of land that the previous government had issued an acquisition notification for in 2004. This was later withdrawn causing distress sales in the interim to builders who promised more than the compensation the state was offering into the hands of government’s housing agencies, reports claim.

Over 10,000 housing societies in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane can breathe a sigh of relief. According to reports, the state co-operatives department has issued a government resolution, under which a society will have to submit only 10 documents while making an online application for ownership of plot certification. This will be followed with an offline application at the office of the district deputy registrar (DDR). While 10 GRs have been merged, two have been scrapped.
