The Karnataka government is set to fix the minimum land requirement for the development of private residential layouts. Now, a minimum of half-acre land is required for layout development. The move could be a telling blow on small land owners, who have been holding on to sizeable plots in prime localities, especially Bengaluru, to develop them into layouts and sites.

The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday stayed the allotment of flats in Supertech Czar Suites luxury project in Greater Noida after questions were raised over the approvals taken by the builder. The court has asked the builder not to give possession of any flat in question in the project being developed in Sector Omnicon 1 of Greater Noida to buyers.

While authorities claim land acquisition for Pune metro will not be a tedious task as most of the land that needs to be acquired belongs to the government, the proposed airport at Purandar is posing major problems. As the airport project location had to be changed several times, several land acquisition issues have cropped up, causing delay in project.
