#RealtyNewsRoundUp: Mhada To Take Private Help To Build Homes Under PMAY
The Maharashtra government has cleared a proposal to rope in private landowners to collaborate with state-run Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (Mhada) to implement the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (PMAY) in urban areas. Private landowners having more than 10 acres of land are eligible to participate in the scheme.

Parliament has passed a Bill to amend the regulations governing the compensation payable for acquisition of immovable property by the Centre for defence and security purposes. The Requisitioning and Acquisition of Immovable Property (Amendment) Bill was approved through a voice vote without debate on August 7. Among other issues, the Bill seeks to amend a provision to allow the Centre to re-issue the notice of acquisition to ensure that a property owner gets an opportunity to be heard.

Provisions of the real estate regulatory law are applicable on lease agreements, too, the Bombay High Court has ruled. The court said that complaints related to such matters could be filed with the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory authority (MahaRera).

A total of 981 people died and over 17 lakh cases of acute respiratory infection were reported in Delhi from 2013 to 2017, a Parliamentary committee has said, calling for an immediate solution to air pollution in the national capital. The committee calls for immediate corrective and preventive strategic to mitigate air pollution.
