#RealtyNewsRoundUp: PM Modi Launches Ro-Ro Ferry Service In Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the first phase of the Rs 615-crore roll-on-roll-off, shortened as Ro-Ro, ferry service between Ghogha in Saurashtra and Dahej in South Gujarat. The service reduces the distance between the two towns from 310 kilometre (KM) by road to 30 km. The ferry will cover this distance in an hour.

The Centre has given environmental approval for a new airport project at Hirasar, about 28 km from Rajkot in Gujarat. The airport will be built at an estimated cost of over Rs 1,400 crore. The new airport will help ease traffic at the existing airport in Rajkot.

To keep a tab on illegal constructions, the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) is planning to implement geographical information system (GIS). The system will help the GDA access real-time data of any location through satellite imagery, helping it nab encroachers.

The Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) is going all-digital about approving building plans. Under the online building plan approval system, an applicant does not have to submit any hard copy of documents to the civic body at any stage. All approvals will be given online. An applicant can check the status of a file online, and receives a soft copy of the approved map through email.
