The Supreme Court on February 28 allowed the Delhi Police to arrest Amrapali bosses CMD Anil Sharma, and directors, Shiv Priya and Ajay Kumar, in a criminal case. The apex court also directed personal properties of the three be attached. The three directors are in the custody of the UP police currently.

The Union Cabinet on February 28 approved Kanpur and Agra Metro rail projects, a move to boost public transport connectivity in the two Uttar Pradesh cities. The estimated cost of the Kanpur Metro project is over Rs 11,076 crore and the Agra project is nearly Rs 8,380 crore. Both the projects will be completed in five years.

Plans are afoot to connect a terminus station of the Aqua Line of the Noida-Greater Noida Metro with an upcoming station of the Delhi Metro's Blue Line through a dedicated pathway and a carriage-way for e-rickshaws. There is a distance of around 300 metres between the Sector 51 Metro station, the terminus of the Aqua Line in Noida, and the upcoming Sector 52 Metro station of the Blue Line, which is being extended from Noida City Centre to Noida Electronic City.

The ride between the Indira Gandhi International Airport and Dhaula Kuan Metro Station is set to get hassle free, with the National Highways Authority of India launching a dedicated one-way flyover that would end the traffic lights on the T-points. The NHAI is set to open the flyover on March 3.

Meanwhile, phase-II of the Mumbai Monorail will be inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on the same day, making the Monorail route fully operational.
