Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has asked companies in the United States to invest in smart cities in India. Companies in the US have said that they are working on proposals that would allow them to benefit from the Smart Cities Mission in India.  Read more.

The Noida Authority will auction 12 commercial plots located in different sectors of Noida, and are on a 90-year lease. The size of these plots ranges from 6,046 square meters to 64,500 square meters. The bidding will close on July 17.  Read more.

The Navi Mumbai civic body’s commissioner has tabled the smart city proposal with the high-profile steering committee. This proposal will be further tabled again in a general body meeting.  The proposal was rejected in 2015. Read more.

The Maharashtra government has approved the smart city plans for Nagpur and Amravati, along with the proposals of six other municipal corporations. The smart city proposals of these municipal corporations were submitted to the central government. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Amravati Municipal Corporation have formed special purpose vehicles to implement smart city projects. Read more.
