The soon-to-be-operational Washermanpet-Chennai Central Metro stretch will mark the completion of the 54-kilometre of the Phase-I of the Chennai Metro. This corridor will link the northeast part of the city to the southwest corner, where the Chennai international airport is situated.
With a robust Metro link, realty developments in localities surrounding the airport have got a boost in the past two years. Some of these areas are already established residential hubs while others are showing signs of an upcoming real estate destination.

Pallavaram
Distance from airport: 3 kilometres
Pallavaram is emerging as an IT hub and attracting renowned technology companies who have established their offices in the area. While social infrastructure is developing gradually, the locality already provides a robust connectivity network with the presence of Pallavaram railway station, new flyovers and arterial routes.
