5 Expensive Streets That Are Centres Of Power In India

The walls and corridors that witness a country's fate being defined are certainly worth more than what money can measure. Perhaps that is why the political centres of a country usually house some of the costliest real estate. Mostly, it is not an individual choice to live in these political powerhouses, unless you are part of the mighty government machinery. In your private capacity, though, you can buy what is open to sale in the proximity.

That seems to explain why real estate prices in National Capital Delhi's Lutyen's Zone is the most expensive. And, some localities in the financial capital of Mumbai are not far behind. PropGuide lists five streets that house India's high and mighty:

Amrita Shergill Marg (Delhi)

The street's proximity to the prime minister's official residence (7, Race Course Road) is symbolic of its status as a powerhouse. Among the people who have houses at Aurangzeb Road are ArcelorMittal Chairman & CEO L N Mittal, DLF Chairman & CEO K P Singh, Max India Chairman Analjit Singh, health care moguls Malvinder and Shivinder Singh, billionaire Ravi Jaipuria, Punj Lloyd Chairman Atul Punj, and Jindal Steel & Power Chairman Naveen Jindal.

Altamount Road (Mumbai)

Reliance Industries Chairman & MD Mukesh Ambani's house, Antilia, counted among the most expensive homes in the world, is located here. This street is also home to many other rich Indian businessmen, such as Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, Jet Airways Chairman Naresh Goyal, the Mafatlal Industries promoters, and the Tatas.

Malabar Hill (Mumbai)

This elevated located – literally as well as metaphorically – developed during the past century houses some of the top corporate names like Adi Godrej, Shapoorji Pallonji, Venugopal Dhoot, the Ruias of the Essar group, billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, and JB Chemicals' Pranav Modi.

Sadashivanagar (Bengaluru)

The Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru, is not far behind from Delhi and Mumbai when it comes to real estate price tag. And among the posh localities that houses movie stars, politicians and other old rich of the city is Sadashivanagar. Lying in the northern part of the city, this locality is more of home to noted personalities down south.
