Bengaluru, Chennai Among Cities That Ask For Big Homes

June 01 2017   |   Sunita Mishra

A study by Housing.com has revealed that 2BHK apartments remained the most preferred configuration among homebuyers of four cities — Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi (this includes the whole national capital region) and Mumbai.  More than 40 per cent people planning to buy properties in these cities would go for a 2BHK unit, the report says. However, there is no lack of people who would want to go for a bigger space — 3BHK flat.  On an average, 20 per cent prospective homebuyers in the three cities, the research report shows, would prefer 3BHK units.  Mumbai, however, is an exception. In the Maximum City, the demand is the highest for 1BHK units, followed by 2BHK flats, and only six per cent future buyers would go for a 3BHK unit.
