Description

Giving its verdict in a case where a sister concern of real estate giant DLF failed to deliver homes within a specified limit, the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission has said that builders cannot escape compensating buyers by citing delays in getting approvals from authorities and hurdles in land acquisition as the reasons. The apex consumer panel also said that homebuyers were not responsible for cost and time overruns in a housing project in a manner and should not be made to suffer owing to that.
