After issues were raised over the pricing of the flats meant for the employees of the Union Territory, the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has reduced the rates of 2BHK and 3BHK units. These units will be now be sold at Rs 1.78 crore and Rs 1.40 crore, respectively. Despite the reduction, prices of these units are at least double the market rate.

Shriram Properties has received an approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) to launch its initial public offering through which the real estate company plans to raise Rs 1,250 crore from the market. The company applied to the markets regulator for this in December last year.

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has failed to get the ODF (open-defecation free) certificate in a third-party survey conducted under the Swachh Bharat Mission, say media reports. The development comes days after areas falling under the East Delhi Municipal Corporation were declared ODF in a survey conducted by the Quality Council of India.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Ministry of Environment and Forests to submit a report on constitution of biodiversity management committees (BMC) at the local level in every state within three months. The tribunal also asked the states that have not constituted the committees to file an affidavit stating the reason for the delay. As against 252,709 panchayats where such panels were to be constituted, only 144,371 have formed them.
