The Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation has framed a model public-private partnership policy to pave the way for private developers to provide low-cost housing in the country. The government would give benefits through interest subsidy and direct per beneficiary amount to private players even if a project is planned on private land.

The Noida Authority has approved the surrender of about 110 acres of the 152 acres of residential-cum-commercial use plot allotted to Wave Infratech. The land was allotted to the developer in 2011 and is spread across Sectors 32 and 25A in the city. In 2009, real estate major BPTP had surrendered 100 acres land to the authority.

The Urban Development and Housing Department has eased the restrictions on the construction of houses and buildings close to defence establishments. Now, it would not be mandatory for owners to obtain a no-objection certificate to carry out construction activity within 500 metres of any army camp in the state.

The Bombay High Court has directed the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to take action against 45 buildings which are inside the approach funnel at the Mumbai airport. Most of these buildings are in Vile Parle (E) and Santacruz (W) and are constructed beyond the height permitted by the Airports Authority of India.
