The government has sold enemy properties worth Rs 1,874 crore in April. According to the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management, the government aims to meet the Rs 90,000-crore disinvestment target set for the current fiscal by selling such assets. In the previous financial year, the government had sold enemy properties worth Rs 779 crore.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) plans to allot over 21,000 plots in Sector 19 and Sector 20 in Greater Noida by June-end. The authority has already started developing roads, parks, sewer lines and a drainage network in these areas.These plots are a part of the 2007 residential scheme.

The West Bengal government is all set to allot 150 acre of land to three electronic parks, one each in Naihati (70 acre), Falta (10.7 acre) and Sonarpur (70 acre). The land will be allotted for a 99-year lease and could be renewed for the same period. Plot owners at Naihati will have to pay Rs 43 lakh per acre while they will have to shell out Rs 2.5 crore per acre at Falta. The per acre rate for plots at Sonarpur is fixed at Rs 44.8 lakh.

The Uttar Pradesh government will plant over 7.5 lakh new saplings in cities of Noida and Greater Noida in 2019-20. Nearly 3.73 lakh saplings will alone be planted on August 15 this year during a massive afforestation drive. The two cities counted among the most polluted across the world.
