India is among the most trusted nations globally when it comes to governance, business, non-governmental bodies and media, but the country's brands are among the least-trusted, says the 2019 Edelman Trust Barometer report, released on January 21. The country was ranked second in the informed public category in the report.

Suraksha Group, which was bidding for debt-ridden Jaypee Infratech through Lakshadweep Pvt Ltd (LPT), may opt out of the race, say media reports. In 2017, Jaypee had declined an offer made by LPT to buy it for Rs 7,350 crore on grounds of undervaluation.

The Noida Authority will start door-to-door garbage collection services later this week. Agencies will be hired and assigned three to four sectors to collect segregated waste, which will then be dumped and compressed to produce refuse-derived fuel at the Mubarkapur temporary site. Residents will have to pay Rs 30-150 as a monthly charge for the service, depending on the size and type of their dwelling.

Haryana’s department of town and country planning (DTCP) has approved and issued licences to 19 affordable housing projects in Gurgaon. These projects will be constructed on land that has been released as a part of the increased allotment for affordable housing. In 2018, the department had received applications for 69 affordable projects in the city, of which 19 have been approved, 45 are under process and five have been rejected.
