#RealtyNewsRoundup: KMC Launches 3-Month Drive Against Property Tax Defaulters

The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has started a drive against property tax defaulters. The KMC will run a three-month drive in 10 wards across central and south Kolkata to collect Rs 100 crore.  Meanwhile, the KMC will also start demolishing ‘highly insecure’ buildings that can be vulnerable during monsoon.

The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has revised prices of homes that are to be sold under the 2008 scheme. Now, a 3BHK would be available for Rs 1.76 crore, a 2BHK for Rs 1.35 crore, a 1BHK for Rs 99 lakh and a 1BHK EWS apartment for Rs 58.07 lakh.

The National Green Tribunal has directed the Central Pollution Control Board to strictly implement the ban on import of plastic waste in the country as it is hazardous for the environment. NGT Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel said local bodies had to encourage the use of plastic waste for road construction or energy recovery or waste to oil, etc.

Affected homebuyers, who had invested in debt-laden Jaypee Infratech’s projects, on June 23 had written to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, seeking government's intervention in the ongoing resolution process against the developer.
