Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the work on the plans of 20 smart cities on June 25. The PM, who will unveil the Smart Cities Mission project in Pune, will launch 14 projects in the city. Sixty nine similar projects will be launched in other cities at a cost of Rs 1,770 crore. These projects include improving water supply, sanitation and creating open and green spaces. Read more

The Karnataka government will build a Japanese International Township on a 500-acre plot in Tumukuru district, 80 km from Bengaluru.  Automobile major Toyoto has invested Rs 13,000 crore so far in the project. Read more

TPG Capital will buy ICICI Home Finance for Rs 2,200 crore. According to media reports, ICICI had to lower its expectations by nearly half. The deal, which is expected to be announced in less than two weeks, is one of the largest deals in the recent past in which a private equity firm is buying a mortgage firm. Read more

In a relief to all those whose properties were damaged during Jat quota stir in February this year, the Haryana government has decided to provide 100 per cent rebate in property tax for residential, commercial, institutional and other properties in the state.
