The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to launch the second phase of its 2019 housing scheme, under which it would sell over 10,300 homes online across categories. These units are spread across Vasant Kunj and Narela. Presenting its annual Budget on February 25, the DDA also proposed to spend 40 per cent of the entire amount on housing and commercial development.

The government on February 25 approved over 5.6 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for the urban poor, taking the total number of houses being funded by the government to more than 79 lakh. Of these, 179,215 houses would be built in Uttar Pradesh while 110,618 units would be constructed in Andhra Pradesh.

In a global list of the healthiest nations, India is places at 120th spot, much below its South Asian neighbours Sri Lanka (66), Bangladesh (91) and Nepal (110). The list by the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation is topped by Spain while Italy has been ranked second.

The Karnataka government would launch a pilot project next week to offer door-step delivery of six services in Bengaluru’s Mahalakshmi Layout. The six services which would be offered to the residents are income certificate, caste certificate, caste-cum-income certificate, residential certificate, health card and senior citizen card. Depending on the success of the move, Karnataka might extend the service to the whole of state capital.
