#RealtyNewsRoundUp: ‘Over 45 Lakh Houses Approved Under PMAY-Urban Since 2014’

The current government claims to have approved construction of 45.86 lakh houses in urban areas since it came to power in 2014, recording an increase of around 240 per cent as compared to that sanctioned under the previous government's 10-year tenure. Under the PMAY (U), the government aims to construct around 1.2 crore houses for the urban poor by 2022.

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority will raise Rs 2,000 crore by issuing Amaravati bonds by the end of this month for the construction of the state capital. The bonds would be issued in the open market by the end May.

Crisis-ridden Jaiprakash Associates has decided to appeal against the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) order that directed the company to return nearly 760 acre of land to its subsidiary Jaypee Infratech, while declaring the transfer of the land as "fraudulent" and "undervalued".

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority has decided to spend Rs 100 crore on developing 80 villages, located along the 165-km Yamuna Expressway that connects Greater Noida with Agra. The move is aimed at facilitating land acquisition for the Jewar Airport.
