Union Minister Mahesh Sharma on January 30 said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was expected to lay the foundation stone of the Jewar International Airport between February 23 and 25. The airport, the second in the national capital region after the Indira Gandhi International Airport, could be operational by 2022-23.

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has initiated insolvency proceedings against real estate company Emaar MGF Land after two homebuyers filed petition against the company for a major delay in delivery of their housing units in a Gurgaon-based project. The NCLT has appointed Manoj Kumar Anand as the interim resolution professional in the case.

The Karnataka Cabinet on January 30 decided to release ₹8,015 crore for infrastructure development in capital Bengaluru. The funds would be used by 2021 for white-topping of roads, tank development, footpath works, drainage development, and flyover and underpass works.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is likely to launch an online portal for its land-pooling policy on February 5. The policy was approved by the Centre in October last year. Under the policy, over 17 lakh houses will be built in the national capital.
