#RealtyNewsRoundUp: Property Deals Of Above Rs 30 Lakh Under I-T Scanner

The Income-Tax Department is matching the "tax profiles" of all property registrations of above Rs 30 lakh under the provisions of the anti-Benami Act, as action against illicit asset holders is set to intensify. The taxman is also investigating those shell companies and their directors whose operations were recently "debarred" by the government as part of the drive to check generation of unaccounted money.

The Delhi High Court has again pulled up the municipal authorities in connection with the unauthorised constructions in the national capital, and asked them to "start following the law". The high court has been taking a strong note of illegal construction in the capital, and has been castigating the municipal bodies for it.

Meanwhile, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has issued 135 challans for burning of solid waste, garbage, dry leaves, plastic and rubber and 233 challans for carrying out construction activities in south Delhi.

Housing Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has asked the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) to accord high priority to the affordable housing segment to contribute towards the government's ambitious Housing for All scheme. The Centre aims to provide houses to all by 2022

Three south Mumbai properties belonging to fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim have been auctioned for Rs 11.58 crore. The properties were put on auction by the finance ministry, under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act. The Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust was the highest bidder for the three properties.
