The SC on September 12 appointed two auditors, Bhatia of Bhatia and Company and Pawan Kumar Aggarwal of Sharp and Company, to conduct the forensic audits of Amrapali group companies. It also directed the Delhi Debts Recovery Tribunal to sell the unencumbered commercial properties of the real estate company.

To meet its vision of housing for all by 2022, the government will launch an online knowledge lab for states and Union Territories, detailing ways to execute affordable housing projects through new technologies and innovative designs. According to the housing ministry, the laboratory will act as a source of information on the matters related to affordable housing in the country.

The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to de-notify the 8,686-acre land in Ghaziabad it had set aside for development of a hi-tech city in 2009-10. Land from across 18 villages along the National Highway-24 was notified under Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894. Since the two builders who won the bid to develop the project in Ghaziabad have acquired only half the notified land so far even after eight years, the government might scrap the project, which would have otherwise enriched the city with two lakh hi-tech residential units.

The Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police has arrested Managing Director of Shubhkamna Buildtech Diwakar Sharma on the basis of a complaint filed by 49 members of the Techomes Flat Buyers Welfare Association. According to the complaint, the builder has allegedly assured possession in 36 months but has failed to do so even after seven years and has diverted the funds for own use.
