#RealtyNewsRoundUp: Telangana Builders Told To Register Projects With RERA

The Telangana government has asked the developers, who have obtained permission for building real estate projects on or after January 1, 2017, with 500 square-metre area or more than eight units to get their projects registered with the Telangana State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TS RERA) immediately.

The Delhi Cabinet has cleared a proposal to conduct a survey on infrastructural gaps in the Delhi-National Capital Region with a focus on women safety in public places. The Cabinet also sought a detailed report on the previous survey, including the list of black spots.

In the wake of West Bengal notifying its own real estate Act, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri made it clear that there is no ambiguity when it comes to implementation of the Central law and states have to conform to it. Puri said that a letter had been written to the state government on the issue and asked the West Bengal government to repeal its Act, as there is already a central law on the same subject.

Billionaire businessman Anil Ambani has announced that the cash-strapped Reliance Communications will be completely exiting the telecom business to concentrate on real estate in future. Pointing out to the 133-acre Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City (DAKC) on the outskirts of Mumbai, he said there was huge realty play opportunity that RCom's erstwhile corporate headquarters possesses, and pegged the potential value creation at the site at Rs 25,000 crore.
