The Uttar Pradesh government has asked authorities in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway to draw up an audit plan for nearly 200 group housing projects in these areas. The directive was issued on September 14 after the government promised that it would ensure developers in Noida and Greater Noida deliver 50,000 homes to buyers in three months.

The Greater Chennai Corporation plans to start mapping properties and utilities in the city with unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) by the end of September. Corporation officials said the civic body had obtained necessary permits from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, ministries of home and defence, the city police and other departments last month, for the use of drones.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that infrastructure projects entailing investment of Rs 1 lakh crore this year will be started today. Infrastructure projects worth Rs 5.96 lakh crore have been planned in Maharashtra, which has earned the state honours from the NITI Aayog for being the leader in infrastructure creation.

An Expert Appraisal Committee set up by the Centre has given environment clearance for developing the Rs 151.60-crore Jakkasandra industrial area in Kolar, Karnataka. The final clearance will be given by the environment ministry.
