#RealtyNewsRoundup: UP RERA Website Receives 15,000 Complaints On Launch Day

The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) website has received 15,000 complaints since its official launch in Lucknow by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on July 26. This shower of complaints resulted into slowing down the site.

The Goods and Services Tax (GST), which subsumed all indirect taxes, is likely to raise the construction cost of the East-West Metro that is being constructed by the Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation (KMRC). KMRC managing director told media that the entire stretch from Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake was expected to be operational by December 2020.

About 60,000 people who have registered open plots on their names in the past two years in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits may have to cough up vacant land tax (VLT) from now on. With a view to raise revenues, the municipal body has decided to collect VLT from plot owners every year.

The Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry has disclosed that 708 government bungalows in the Lutyens' Bungalow Zone (LBZ) are “considered structurally unsafe against earthquake”. The assessment in this regard was done by the Central Public Works Department, the Lok Sabha was informed.
