Maradu is located towards central Kochi. It is surrounded by areas like Vytilla, Thripunithura, Panampilly Nagar, Kadavanthra, Eroor, Chilavannoor, Thevara, Elamkulam and Edakochi. The area is home to the first international convention centre in Kerala.

A number of National Highways, such as NH 47, NH 47A and NH 49 pass through the neighbourhood. The Cochin International Airport is 32.2 kilometres from here, along the Salem Kochi Kanyakumari Highway. The Kochi Metro is slated to pass through the area.
