Jadavpur is a part of south Kolkata and is under the South 24 Parganas district. It is bounded by localities such as Tollygunge towards the west, Dhakuria in the north, Garia towards the south and Santoshpur in the east. The area is known for housing the famed Jadavpur University and the 8B bus stand wherefrom important state operated buses depart.
