Jawhar is a municipal council under the Palghar District in Maharashtra. It is one of the state’s oldest municipal council, having been established in 1918. The area is 80 kilometres from Nasik and 145 kilometres from Mumbai. Often touted as the Mahabaleshwar of Thane, the area has several tourist spots that are frequented by holiday goers.
