Raise Curb Appeal Of Your Home Now For A Smooth Sale

June 23, 2015   |   Sohini Sarkar

Whenever home buyers come visiting, the first thing they see is the exterior of your home. Therefore, it must look beautiful. An important part of making your home look inviting is its curb appeal. The sidewalk leading to your home, the path within, the garage space and the front of your home are the things that make the curb of your home.

Before having the interiors fixed in your villa in Delhi, you must concentrate on improving the curb appeal of your for-sale home.

Removing clutter

Streets and roads in most Indian cities are not spotless and there is only so much that an individual home owner can do to fix the curb appeal. There are numerous villas in India's cities, which are located along open drains or broken roads where not much can be done without getting councilors and local body members involved.

However, if you are lucky enough to live in villas in Adyar and other posh areas where the civic infrastructure is well developed, you can do much to increase the curb appeal of your home. You should start with cleaning the driveway by putting away children's toys, yard tools, littered papers, broken stuff, etc. Unkempt bushes, creepers and weeds are some of the other things that you should get rid of while cleaning the curb. Hire a gardener and a sweeper to clean your property and supervise them so that they complete the job the way you expect them to.

Fixing trouble spots

Is a part of the fencing around your luxury home in India broken? Are the railings on the front staircase broken? Is there a loose tile in the front side on which someone may trip? These are some of the things that you must fix before showing your resale property in India to others. Not only will they appear ugly to buyers but are also risky. You can conduct a thorough inspection of your home with the help of an interior designer to find the blind spots in your home. Cracked parts of the ceiling, sagging and damp exterior walls and mould on the surface must be fixed to make your property in Adyar appealing to prospective buyers.

Getting rid of outdated features

Much of your curb appeal depends on how contemporary your home looks. Therefore, you should either remove them or redesign them in a way that they hold their own. Wood shutters, louvered windows, metal awnings and window bars are some of the things that you must remove from the outer areas of your villas in Delhi if you want them sold.  You can also get them repaired and colored for a heritage appeal and some cheap cover up.

Planting greenery all around

An easy way to increase the curb appeal for villas in India is to have green lawns in the front. Lush green lawns with flowers look mesmerizing and will definitely attract buyers. You can contact a local nursery to get flowers such as geranium, lilies and roses which look great on front lawns. Make sure you use quality pesticides and fertilizers in order to grow them quick and thick. Engage a gardener or help water the plants and tend to them every day. You can also install automatic sprinklers to water the plants. You can further add some aesthetic appeal to the potted plants by using colorful pots of terracotta or plastic.

There are other ways to improve the curb appeal of your home, but the above mentioned tips should be the first ones that you should take seriously.
