The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) will build 60-storeys and taller skyscrapers for middle- and-high-income groups in the heart of the island city. These towers will come up in the next decade as part of the housing board's ongoing BDD chawl redevelopment in central Mumbai.

The Kerala government has decided to scrap a clause that specified a lock-in period of 10 years for the sale of land containing a residential building that was built by filling paddy land or wetland. The state revenue department has taken a strong exception and cited the 2012 circular as an illegal, unconstitutional and unnecessary intrusion into the citizens' rights for the enjoyment of their properties.

Real estate major M3M India has signed brand-licence agreement with US-based The Trump Organization to develop Trump towers in Gurgaon. The structure will offer 180 luxury homes, at an average selling price of about Rs 10 crore. The Gurgaon-based developer will launch the Trump-branded twin-tower by November-end.

A seven-member Japanese delegation has shown their interest in investing about Rs 3,000 crore across 250 acres of land in Greater Noida. If the investment does take place, 20,000 new jobs will be created through it.

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar's bungalow at Pali Hill in Mumbai will soon give way to a multi-storeyed building which will not only have his apartment but also a museum dedicated to his illustrious career in Bollywood. Kumar and his actress-wife Saira Banu will own 50 per cent of the building after the redevelopment.
