The Haryana government has issued a notification directing all authorities to appoint nodal officers for strict implementation of the rooftop solar power system scheme in buildings, including residential ones. According to the new notification, the Haryana Urban Development Authority will issue occupancy certificates (OC) for a building on plot size 500 square metre and above only after ensuring a solar power plant has been installed.

The Maharashtra government is planning to sell 50,000 vacant houses in Mahul, Trombay and Vidyavihar. These houses, measuring 250 sqft each, were built by the MHADA for those affected by projects undertaken by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority for building roads, Metros, gardens, etc.

In a respite for homebuyers who have booked homes and made part payments, the government has clarified that the goods and services tax (GST) will actually reduce their tax outgo for payments made after July 1. The government has also asked developers to not ask customers to pay a higher tax rate on installments to be received after imposition of GST.

A parcel of land in the national capital's Dwarka area, earmarked for constructing a diplomatic enclave on the lines of the one in Chanakyapuri, has been transferred from the Delhi Development Authority to the Land and Development Office. The sprawling zone, identified by the DDA in 2007, has around 40 plots.
